People are still buying homes in Airdrie. 

This Alberta city, disguised as a small town, experienced a 30 per cent growth over the four year period 2009 to 2013 and analysts predict that with right conditions, it will see another 75 per cent population surge in the next 10 years or so.

Early indications were than Airdrie could grow to 90,000 people by 2040.  However, new predictions suggest that target could be hit by 2027.

Airdrie city councilors don’t want to discourage growth, because new populations widen the tax base.  But one of the city’s charms is its small town vibe and Airdrie’s key stakeholders would like to keep it that way.  This desire to keep things small and friendly led to council’s development of a new sustainability plan late

For the second year in a row, the south western edge of Airdrie has been counted as one of our country’s top 100 investment bets for 2016 by Canadian Real Estate Wealth.

The industry magazine has released its top 100 findings every year since 2011 and Airdrie’s south side also made the 2015 edition.

Twelve communities in Alberta made the list of real estate investment prospects, making our province the third most popular Canadian region for investing in real estate, down from the second spot last year.  Magazine publisher, KMI Media Ltd of Toronto, issued a statement indicating that Alberta’s current economic downtown caused the drop.  All things considered, Alberta is still doing well and those communities which made the top 100 did so because of
