Upcoming Airdrie Events for January 2015

Airdrie has many exciting events coming up for January 2015. While most people are busy with the holidays, wrapping gifts and attending holiday events, it’s never too early to start thinking about next year’s fun-filled schedule. You’ll find the Cozy Corner Acoustic Jam taking place, a Hula Hoop class and even Rik Emmett is coming to town. Here’s a look at all the fun you can look forward to in January of 2015.

Blood Donor Clinic – 800 East Lake Boulevard Northeast, Airdrie

Check out the Blood Donor Clinic at the Genesis Place on January 2nd. What better way to start the New Year than to give back and save lives. The event will take place from 3pm-8pm in the Rotary & Echo Room. The donations are through the Canadian Blood Services.

Cozy Corner Acoustic Music Jam – Mackenzie Way Southwest, Airdrie

The God Earth Café will be hosting the Cozy Corner Acoustic Music Jam this January 13th. Every Tuesday evening from 6:30pm-9pm you can join Renee Werenka and AJ Kolankowski as they host the jam session where you’re invited to bring your own or use theirs.

Airdrie Original One Act Play Festival – 800 East Lake Boulevard Northeast, Airdrie

Head over to the Bert Church Live Theatre on January 10th for the 3rd Annual Airdrie Original One Act Play Festival. It takes place all day for $25 ($15 for youth) and you’ll get the chance to submit a script and bring you cast and director. Their adjudicators will critique the performance group and you may win a price to the Alberta Playwrights’ Network Playwrights’ Bootcamp.

Hula Hoop Dance/Fitness Classes for Adults & Youth

On January 12th at 7pm, try the Hula Hoop Dance and Fitness Classes for adults and youth around Airdrie. All levels of experience can check it out at St. Vladimir’s Ukrainian Church Hall, the Calgary Jewish Centre and the Airdrie Genesis Place Dance Studio.

Rik Emmett – 800 East Lake Boulevard Northeast, Airdrie

Don’t miss Rik Emmett on January 14th from 7:30-8:30pm at the Bert Church Live Theatre. He is an international singer, songwriter and guitarist that has made into multiple Halls of Fame. It will be an intimate acoustic duo in Airdrie.
