If you haven't had a chance yet, make sure that you schedule some time to visit the Airdrie Festival of lights this year. It's a Christmas tradition and a great chance to get out and enjoy the holiday spirit with your family.

This is the largest outdoor display of Christmas lights in Western Canada and it will really take your breath away. It's amazing to see all of the lights at this time of the year and is a breathtaking wonderland for both old and young. Besides the lights there are also a variety of other activities available at the festival.

Bring along a bag of marshmallows and enjoy the tasty treats at one of the handcrafted fire pits that are located near the Event Tent. Sip on some hot chocolate (available at the concession for $2) and warm up your hands by the fire.

Take a train ride

Take a ride on either the Santa Express or the Polar Express this year! Both of these miniature trains run through the park and tickets are available at the Brookfield Station. The trains are suitable for people of all ages and are a great way to get into the true spirit of Christmas.

Skating

Within the displays set up at the Festival of lights sits Nose Creek Pond and it is just waiting for skaters. Although it technically is not a part of this festival, the pond is a great way to take in all of the beautiful lights surrounding it. For more information about skating conditions at the pond you should contact the city directly.

This amazing festival is open every evening during the month of December from 6 PM until 9 PM. For further details about the Festival of Lights you can visit airdriefestivaloflights.com.
